Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Pause Point of Sale (POS) system and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Pause POS provides business management software including point of sale, inventory, and reporting features. We operate under a "Free Forever" business model for our core software.

We reserve the right to introduce optional premium features or services in the future, but our core POS functions as described on our "Features" page will remaining free for standard retail usage.

3. User Responsibilities & Conduct

You agree to use the Service only for lawful business purposes. You are specifically responsible for:

  • Ensuring your tax settings (VAT) are configured correctly according to UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 8 of 2017.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your staff login credentials.
  • Not using the Service for selling illegal or prohibited items under UAE law.

4. Data Ownership & Privacy

You retain full ownership of your business data. By using the service, you grant us a license to host, process, and backup your data to provide the Service.

AI & Improvement License: You specifically grant Pause POS a right to use anonymized and aggregated data derived from your usage (such as product names, categories, and pricing trends, but excluding any personally identifiable information) to train, fine-tune, and utilize AI models (including vector search and inference engines) to improve service functionality and provide smart suggestions to all users.

As outlined in our Privacy Policy, your sensitive data is stored in the UAE (Dubai) to comply with local data residency regulations.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

a. No Warranty: The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, whether express or implied. Pause POS does not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. You acknowledge that your use of the service is at your sole risk.

b. Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by UAE law, Pause POS shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to:

  • Damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses.
  • Loss of sales or business interruption resulting from system downtime, bugs, errors, glitches, or malfunctions.
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.

You acknowledge that the core service is provided free of charge, and this limitation of liability reflects the reasonable allocation of risk associated with a free service.

6. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the **United Arab Emirates** and the **Emirate of Dubai**. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Dubai Courts.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes via email or dashboard notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
